Drawing & Color

This workshop has a two-fold design: part drawing, and part an emphasis on the development of ideas using a free mix of media, from pencil, pen and ink, and conte crayon, to pastels, acrylics, and watercolors. Our focus will be on your unique visual perception and way of putting images on paper.

At the same time, we will give you a strong foundation in the basic technical skills involved in drawing: the importance of perspective and composition, as well as shading, modeling, and the use of line and texture.

You will study images and color through still life, landscape, and the figure, and be challenged by subject matter ranging from realism to abstraction and fantasy. Experimental techniques in mixed media will also be explored.
