Build a vocabulary of imagery while considering its composition on thrown and hand-built ceramic forms. Incorporate personal imagery and storytelling through carving slip-colored clay, and using transfer techniques (decals, silk-screening, resist printing from a photocopy, block-printing) on leather-hard clay. Glaze enhancements to surface work will also be demonstrated. Students can bring leather-hard work to class and/or experiment on tiles provided. NOTE: This class is part of a special program for Educators. For details, click Workshops at the top of this page, and then Special 2018.
