Caterina Urrata Weintraub is a Boston based artist who received her BFA from Massachusetts College of Art & Design, where she currently teaches. She practices the art of flamework, cast and hot glass, using each for their unique properties. Caterina is the co-owner, along with her husband, David Weintraub, of Fiamma Glass Studio, a teaching and working glass studio in Waltham, MA. About her work, Trina says I find inspiration for my work in memories, dreams and nature. Drawing from such things gives me the ability to embrace or alter my relationship with them. The inherent fragile nature of glass and its unique relationship with light make it the perfect material to realize these ideas.
