Christine Kenneally, a mosaic artist from Easthampton, Massachusetts, is fascinated with the transformative process of building her work piece by piece from a variety of materials. She has been working in mosaics since 2004 and believes that it would take many lifetimes to learn all there is to know about this versatile art form. Her personal work is inspired by nature and the relationships between form, pattern, and the emotion that can be conveyed through andamento. Her teaching incorporates the traditional methods and concepts employed throughout history, with an understanding that in each mosaic, there is an art to deciding whether to follow these rules or creatively abandon them. She has exhibited her work locally and regionally, and has done small and large-scale installations in public spaces, colleges, small businesses, non-profit organizations, and private homes. She has been teaching and lecturing about the art of mosaics since 2007.
