Explore traditional Nigerian dyeing and printing techniques while learning about the arts and culture of the Yoruba people from a master craftsman. Students will learn about the unique symbolism and imagery in Nigerian textiles and will experiment with intricate hand drawn patterns and deep indigo colors. Using wax, yucca paste resist, and fiber dyes, students will dye and print shirts, fabric, and scarves.
