Operations Assistant

General description:
Responsible for supporting the smooth operation of Snow Farm’s 200+ workshops, independent and winter residencies, a 4-week High School Summer camp, access programs such as Work Study and Workshop Access, and our fundraising event, The Seconds Sale.
Hours:
Full-time and onsite. During the month of July, this position will stay overnight during the duration of the Snow Farm Summer teen program. Some evenings and weekends are required to maintain all aspects of operations.
Key responsibilities:
Snow Farm Summer High School Program
- Receive applications, review, track references, information and accept high school applications in collaboration with the High School Director and Operations Manager.
- Record studio choices, enter applicants into database, enter family information, track scholarship applications, notify families of scholarship awards, enter health information into our CampDocs software.
- Respond to parent and student inquires via email and phone
- Process payments from parents and partner scholarship organizations
- During the program, this position will stay on-site and assist the High School Director in administrative tasks, supervising students, and supporting instructors.
Seconds Sale Fundraiser:
- Coordinate the logistics and schedules of the Seconds Sale Fundraiser along with the Operations Coordinator.
- Set up gallery spaces and cashier stations before the sale.
- Assist with coding and moving merchandise being dropped off for the Seconds Sale.
- Work the 3 weekends of the sale and assist with troubleshooting and giving breaks to staff/volunteers.
Regular Programming Season:
- Answer the phone and take registrations if Registrar/ Student Liaison is not available.
- Greet and check-in students on arrival nights. Assist with orientation and instructor presentations.
- Support Work Study participants with orientation training, problem solving, and frequent check-ins.
- Assist housekeeping with preparing rooms/bathrooms as needed on tight session turnovers and as needed.
- Assisting the kitchen to ensure meals are still served during unexpected emergencies.
- In addition, any special projects or tasks assigned by the Operations Manager.
Compensation:
Annual salary is between $37,000 – $40,000. Benefits include paid vacation, holidays, and sick days; $2,000 reimbursement for medical costs; free home-cooked lunches (when dining room is open); and accrual toward free/reduced workshops at Snow Farm. We do not provide health insurance at this time.
