Snow Farm Policies, Terms & Conditions for 2025
By registering for a workshop, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions below. If the student is under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must agree to these terms and conditions on their behalf.
Cancellation Policy
Workshops are confirmed, based on meeting minimum enrollment, four weeks in advance of the start date. All cancellation requests received more than four weeks before the start date can receive a full refund (tuition, housing, meals, supplies), less a $150 cancellation fee and the annual $45 registration fee, if applicable. Cancellations requested after the four week point are not eligible for a refund (tuition, housing, meals, supplies, registration fee). In the case of an unexpected and unavoidable emergency, accommodations may be possible by contacting the Snow Farm office.
General Release of Liability
The buildings at Snow Farm are situated on adapted farmland and, as such, Snow Farm combines both the loveliness and the rugged nature of a New England farm. While every effort has been made to make the space safe and accessible, several of the buildings are 100 to 275 years old with sloping, unpaved paths and grassy fields. It is the participant’s responsibility to take into account safety hazards introduced by the natural environment of Snow Farm, and any weather conditions during their stay. Depending on the season, decks and paths are occasionally slippery due to dew, mud, rain, ice and snow. Additionally, students will be trained in safe and proper use of studio equipment at Snow Farm. Participation in the use of any of the equipment on the premises is solely at the risk and liability of the participant (or parent/legal guardian if under the age of 18). With this release, you acknowledge that you understand the nature of the Snow Farm facility, and agree to assume the risk of any injury that may occur due to rough terrain, weather considerations, and participation in studio activities while at Snow Farm. You also understand that you may be included in candid photographs taken at Snow Farm, which may be used for marketing purposes.
Community Expectations
During each workshop session, people from different backgrounds come together on the Snow Farm campus to learn craft and fine art in a community setting. In order for the entire community to gain the most from this experience, we ask that everyone is respectful, kind, and thoughtful in their actions, words, and interactions with instructors, other students, and staff. Some examples include: following the safety guidelines, listening to instructors during demos and instructions, being respectful of others’ workspace, making space for everyone to contribute in conversations, and engaging people in conversation that promotes connection (art, creativity, travel, home) rather than disagreement (politics, religion, health policies). If a situation arises in which a student disrupts the group’s ability to focus on their creativity, after a verbal warning, Snow Farm has the discretion and right to ask the student to leave campus immediately, without refund.
Medical Emergency
In the case of a health emergency or serious injury, if you are not able to communicate clearly, you give Snow Farm permission to respond on your behalf.
