Erin E. Castellan lives in Asheville, NC. She creates colorful, painterly collages using hand-embroidery, knitting, crochet, and various found and painted fabrics. Erin fully embraces thread and other textile materials as her "paint" and enjoys the expressive range these tactile materials can offer. Her embroidered paintings have been exhibited across the United States, and were published in vol. 118 of New American Paintings. Erin received a BFA in Textile Design from the Rhode Island School of Design, and an MFA in Painting from Indiana University.
